18.11.2024

It is a long-standing tradition of the Oberalp Group to highlight and reward special projects and achievements of employees with the so-called "Oberalp Awards" every year. Also, this year, the winners among the impressive number of submitted projects of 2023 were awarded this special prize. After extensive reviews and discussions, the Executive Board of the Oberalp Group announced the winners from among the proposed projects in November 2024.

The Creativity & Innovation Award for 2023 was assigned to the Montebelluna Footwear Team for the Dynafit Ridge boot development. This boot sets a new benchmark pushing the two most relevant parameters in touring boots, lightweight and downhill performance to a new level. This first-class touring boot comes with two strong innovations and has been industrialized with excellence.

In the Risk Award category, projects, teams, or talents are honored annually for their courage - regardless of whether these decisions turned out to be the right ones. In this category, this year the Polish team has been awarded, for the decision to take over three stores from a long-term franchisee that faced difficulties in maintaining the business, five more stores have been shifted to another franchisee. This has been a bold decision of the management and the team as it has a significant impact on the organization, affecting many processes and activities. While the risks and efforts involved are high, allowing customers to leave our business would likely pose an even greater risk.

The Excellent Execution & Process Improvement Award 2024 was awarded to two teams. The first trophy was assigned to a member of the Apparel Team. The Costing Specialist developed a new costing tool to streamline and optimize communication with suppliers and the pricing process itself. The tool supports cost negotiation alongside the entire product development process.
The second award went to the Customer Service Team in Kiefersfelden which implemented a Lean Board to help to track open tasks, operational issues, ticket priorities, successes, and deadlines.

The Sustainability Award went to the team that developed the Salewa brand's Aria Helmet. The Aria Helmet is Oberalp’s first piece of Personal Protective Equipment, developed from the beginning with the aim of reducing its environmental impact, supported by technical data.

The Direct to Customer Award went to the Italian Customer Service team, which was recognized as "Italy's Best Customer Service" by the well-known newspaper "Corriere della Sera" in the category "Apparel and Accessories Outdoor".

The last award introduced only this year, the Cost Saving Award went to two teams: The whole Team of the Pomoca team for the relocation of the entire Pomoca production facility into the new headquarters in Chavornay, which has been organized & executed exceptionally well, utilizing in-house recourses. The team coordinated the disassembly of the machinery, the physical move to the new location, and the reassembly of the equipment in the new facility. The second award went to a team that found a new setup for all performance marketing agencies. With the new setup consolidating our efforts to just one agency for Meta and one for Google, we save significant resources and time. This approach allows us to leverage synergies within the company.
